Day1 Beijing
Upon arrival at the Capital International Airport in Beijing, you will be greeted by our tour guide and transferred to our hotel in Beijing. Enjoy the rest of the day for leisure.

Day2 Beijing/ Xian (B/L)
After breakfast, you will visit the Forbidden City-the UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site, the largest and most intact conglomeration of ancient structures of the imperial palace. This was the palace for 24 Ming and Qing Dynasty emperors who ruled China for over 500 years. Enjoy your Roast Peking Duck for lunch. In the afternoon, you will take a flight (or high speed train) to Xian, the ancient capital city for 11 dynasties in Chinese history and also the beginning of the ancient Silk Road. Listed as the UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site, the silk Road is a historically important trade and cultural exchange route connecting China and the West, which began during the Han Dynasty more than 2000 years ago. Upon arrival in Xian, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day for leisure.

Day 3 Xi'an (B/L/D)
After breakfast this morning, the excursion takes you to the awesome Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, widely considered the eighth wonder of the world, Listed as the UNESCO Cultual Heritage Site, the Museum of Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses houses more than 6000 life-sized terracotta soldiers and horses that guard the Emperor Qin Shihuang, the first emperor of a unified China more than 2000 years ago. Later in the day you will drive the Huaqing Hot Spring for a tour. As the resort for the emperor and his concubines during Tang dynasty, Huaqing Hot Spring has been famous for its scenic views and the romantic stories of the Emperor Xuanzong and his concubine Yang Guifei.

Day 4 Xi'an/ Lanzhou/Jiayuguan (Jiayu Pass) (B/L/D)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the train station in Xian to board high speed train to Lanzhou, capital city of Gansu Province. The bullet train ride takes three hours to complete the 700 KM journey. Upon arrival in Lanzhou, you will met by your local guide and escorted to visit the Waterwheel Garden, which was originated during Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The waterwheel is the oldest irrigation tool inn the Yellow River area of Lanzhou. Around 22:00 pm, you will embark on the chartered "China Orient Express Train" to Jiayuguan. Stay overnight on the train.

Day 5 Jiayuguan (Jiayu Pass) (B/L/D)
Upon arrival in Jiayuguan (Jiayu Pass) City this morning, you will take the excursion to visit Jiayuguan or Jiayu Pass, the most western end of the Great Wall and the best preserved military fortress of the Great Wall. Afterwards, you will visit the Overhanging Great Wall. As part of Jiayu Pass defensive work, this section of the Great Wall is located 7 miles from downtown Jiayuguan, and appears from a distance like a dragon overhanging on the slope. Tonight you will stay overnight in the city of Jiayuguan.

Day 6 Jiayuguan/ Dunhuang (B/L/D)
After a nice breakfast buffet at the hotel, you will get aboard the train before its scheduled departure at 10:00hrs am for Dunhuang. During the train ride, our invited professors from Dunhuang Research Institute will give you a presentation on Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang. Upon arrival in Dunhuang, you will be taken to visit Mingsha Hill and the Crescent Moon Pool. Where you will have the opportunity to take camel ride over the sand dune, and may hear the sound echoes of wind whipping off the dunes. After dinner tonight, you will take a stroll around Shazhou Night Market, a local night market in Dunhuang well known for its local specialties including the local crafts and gourmet snacks. Day 7 Dunhuang/ Turpan (B/L/D)
The highlight today is a visit to the famed Mogao Grottoes or Mogao Caves, known as the Caves of the Thousand Buddhas. Designated as the World Cultural Heritage Site by the UNESCO, Mogao Caves comprise the largest, most richly endowed, and longest used treasure house of Buddhist art in the world, and represent the great achievement of Buddhist art from the 4th to the 14th century. Many visitors find themselves deeply touched by the immortal works of art. In the afternoon, you will be transferred back to the train station to board China Orient Express Train for your ride to the next destination-Turpan.

Day 8 Turpan/ Urumqi (B/L/D)
Around 7:00 am in the morning, the train is scheduled to arrive in Turpan. Today you will visit Karez Well- the amazing ancient underground irrigation system consisting of vertical wells linked by underground water canals, surface canals and small reservoirs. At its peak, the total length of the irrigation system was more than 3000 miles with most of the irrigation system still in use by the local residents. Due to the hot and dry weather in Turpan, this system has efficiently reduced the evaporation, and is considered one of the three greatest water projects in Chinese history. Afterwards, you will visit the Flaming Mountain, featured in the classic novel 'Journey to the West'. The Flaming Mountain is believed to be the hottest spot in China with its summer temperature reaching 120 F frequently and its striking gullies and trenches caused by the erosion of the red sandstone bedrock give the mountain flaming appearance. bright red soil of the mountain glows even more under the glaring sun, and it is no wonder we feel the heat. Finally, you will take a tour of the ruins of the ancient City of Jiahe (Yarkhoto) with a history of 2300 years. This ancient city used to be the capital of former Cheshi. After dinner you will board the China Orient Express Train with scheduled departure at 20:30 pm for Urumqi, the final destination. Urumqi is the capital city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Upon arrival in Urumqi, you will be transferred to your hotel for hotel check in.

Day 9 Urumqi (B/L/D)
Today’s excursion takes you to the beautiful Lake of Heaven (Tianchi Lake), where you will take a boat ride. Located in the middle of Bogda Peak, this apline lake has a water coverage of 1.9 square miles with its water source coming from the melting snow of Tianshan (literally “heavenly mountain” in Chinese) Mountain. Upon returning to the city of Urumqi, you will spend some time visiting Xinjiang International bazaar.

Day 1 Beijing

Day 2 Beijing AB/L
This morning you will visit the UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site - the Temple of Heaven where emperors used to pray for good harvest. You will also attend a morning lesson of Taiji (also referred to as Taichi by the Westerners) exercise on the site of the Temple of Heaven given by a professional. Taichi is a type of internal Chinese martial art practiced for both its defense training and its health benefits. T’ai chi theory and practice evolved in agreement with many Chinese philosophical principles, including those of Taoism and Confucianism. After lunch, you will take a tour of Hutong (Chinese alleyways) by riding aboard a rickshaw pedicab through the narrow lanes of the old residential quarters in the afternoon.
Hutongs are a type of narrow streets or alleys in Beijing, formed by lines of siheyuan, traditional courtyard residences. Many neighbourhoods were formed by joining one siheyuan to another to form a hutong, and then joining one hutong to another. Hutongs represent an important cultural element of the city of Beijing. Thanks to Beijing’s long history and status as capital for six dynasties, almost every hutong has its anecdotes, and some are even associated with historic events. In contrast to the court life and elite culture represented by the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, and the Temple of Heaven, the hutongs reflect the culture of grassroots Beijingers. The hutongs are residential neighborhoods which still form the heart of Old Beijing. Taking a Hutong tour is a great way to enjoy the local cultures, giving you a unique opportunity to glimpse into the local resident's daily life.

you will take a flight to Chongqing. the largest city in Southwest China with a population of more than 30 million. Day 2 THE YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE: SHIBAOZHAI (AB, L, D)
Today’s shore excursion takes you to Shibaozhai, which literally means Stone Treasure Fortress, or Fengdu. Built with wooden structure without using any nails in 1819, the nine-story Shibaozhai Pagoda was constructed leaning against the rocky and craggy hill facing the Yangtze River. As the legendary home of the King of Hades, Fengdu is often referred to as the “ghost city”. Return aboard to attend the Captain’s Welcome Party tonight.
Day 3 THE YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE: QUTANG GORGE/WU GORGE/SHENNU STREAM EXCURSION (AB, L, D)
Early in the morning, ship is scheduled to arrive at the White Emperor City, where you may go ashore for optional excursion. Around mid morning you will start cruising through the magnificent Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge before arrival in Wushan at noontime. Transfer to a small boat for Shennu Stream excursion to experience the breathtaking scenery. Resume your sail on the Yangtze River for San Dou Ping, and pass through the last gorge – Xiling Gorge. Attend Captain’s Farewell Dinner Banquet, followed by the talent show performed by the crew tonight. Late at night, the cruise ship will pass through the five level shiplocks of the well-known Three Gorges Dam, which gives you a unique opportunity to experience the grandeur of the world’s biggest dam project. Arrive in San Dou Ping, where the Three Gorges Dam Project Site is located.
Day 4 THE YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE: YICHANG/SHANGAI (AB, L)
This morning you will visit the Three Gorges Dam Project Site. After lunch, you will be transferred to Yichang Train Station to board bullet train to Shanghai. Upon arrival in Shanghai, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day for leisure.
